Groundworks 2025, dimensions variable, plaster of paris, oil-based ink, leaves, roots and petals.
Groundworks 2025 is a series of three sculptural works created through an experimental layering of plaster of Paris over printed plates carrying traces of leaves, roots, petals and hands. Each piece encodes time directly into its making: varying consistencies of plaster are poured across a full day, forming cumulative layers that absorb the ghostly impressions left in the ink. This process blurs the boundaries between print and sculpture, allowing the material to record moments of contact, pressure and decay.

Hands across the sky 2025, 19 x 19cm, plaster of paris and oil-based ink.
The second work in the series, Hands Across the Sky, has prompted comparisons to brain scans, geological cross-sections and fossils. These interpretations reflect my ongoing interest in the ground as a site for the making and excavation of knowledge systems.
